Gum Care

Gum disease is one of the most common conditions we treat — and one of the most overlooked. It usually starts quietly: gums that bleed when you brush, persistent bad breath, or gums that are slowly pulling back and making your teeth look longer.

Without treatment, it progresses from gingivitis to periodontitis, where bone loss begins and teeth can become loose. Left too long, it can lead to tooth loss. The good news is that both stages are very manageable, especially when caught early.

How we treat it

We start with a thorough evaluation of your gum health, including pocket depth measurements. Treatment is then tailored to where things are at. For most patients, a deep cleaning — scaling and root planing — removes the buildup below your gumline and gives your gums a real chance to heal. For more active cases, we add antimicrobial therapy to target the infection directly.

Because gum disease is linked to heart disease and diabetes, treating it matters well beyond your mouth. Most patients tell us they can't believe how much better their mouth feels once the problem is addressed.

  • Antimicrobial therapy to target infection at the source
  • Ongoing periodontal maintenance to keep disease from coming back
